Classic Films »

Classic films that have LGBT themes, storylines, characters, and/or subtext. And what defines a “classic” film on MOTR are movies that were made WELL before I was born, as in 1972, and even if movies made after 1972 are considered classic now, I’m still not admitting that I’m so old now that movies of my generation are considered classics. Well ok, sometimes I’ll put movies here that were made after 1972, but that doesn’t mean that I like it. Just you wait, you’ll turn on a classic rock station one day and discover that “classic rock” now includes bands from your childhood/teenage/boy-was-I-stupid-when-I-was-young days, and it’s a scary experience when you realize you are now in that category of “classic” let me tell you! But you know what, I love getting older, because getting older means I’m getting Smarter and all this Smartness is driving me insane because the Smarter you get, the more you realize how absolutely stupid people are! Well, that’s what I discovered, so no wonder I ended up in the same mental hospital as Mariah Carey and Elton John, they were driven crazy by stupid people too, or by something because those two are definitely not the most sane people ever, but what great artist is? If they ain’t crazy, then they ain’t making great art. Just ask Michelangelo. That crazy art guy wouldn’t bathe or pretty much eat or sleep or even take off his shoes for days and weeks and months and years, and those gross, smelly shoes stuck to his feet and he had to peal them off because for him, it was just art, art, art, art, ART with that brilliant man. Some days, I get so stuck on this MOTR website of mine that I forget all about time and food and bill paying and clothes washing and other important everyday stuff like that, but I always bathe, because, you know, it’s good to bathe. But that’s why I got me a scientist as a wife. She’s sane and says, “Would you please get off the computer and just eat something already.” I guess I better go eat now. I keep forgetting to do that. My poor wife. She really is, just so exhausted. Just saying…And remember, for me, just like Elwood P. Dowd, it’s all about being Smart and Pleasant. That’s why I bathe and eat and sleep when I can remember to get off this damn computer. Toodles! ;)
